ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Throughout my life, I’ve had the opportunity to live, work, travel and explore across the country. And as an artist, I find that my surroundings greatly influence my work. Here in Saint Augustine, I’ve been inspired by the dunes, the surf, the sunrise, and the feel of the beach. That influence has primarily taken the form of watercolor paintings since moving to St Augustine.

My intention as an artist is to provide an experience of emotional connection – a moment in time remembered. When you look at my work, I want you to remember St. Augustine. Your experience here. Maybe it’s the foggy morning walk on the beach where you found peace, or the orange cones lining the sandy road you traveled on during a holiday weekend. Perhaps it’s the mark of the turtle nests that inspired your child to learn more about sea turtles, their life cycle, and our fragile planet. Or maybe it’s just the ocean, the dunes and the sea oats that have stayed with you as a memory of family, friends, home, or solitude.

Art has always been deeply important to me and a lifelong passion. I am grateful for the opportunity to share my work.
