ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Maryna Kovalchuk is a Ukrainian visual artist based in Jacksonville, Florida. Born in Yalta, Crimea, she comes from a family of artists and architects and holds a Master’s degree in Graphic Design, Painting, and Art Education.
Her art explores memory, childhood, personal history, loss and healing.
Her work has been exhibited in Florida and in other cities across the United States. She is also an art educator and the founder of cultural and community art initiatives dedicated to sharing and supporting Ukrainian culture.
Maryna’s paintings are held in private collections in the United States, Ukraine, and countries across the Europe. Several of her works have received awards at juried exhibitions. Her paintings are currently displayed in art spaces throughout Florida and regularly participate in group exhibitions and art and charity events.
