ARTIST’S BIO
Dara Dodson is an accomplished artist originally from the picturesque Appalachian Mountains. She has lived in Florida since 1989 and has called St. Augustine home since 2003. Encouraged by her parents to pursue her passion for art, Dara began winning awards at a young age. Her preferred mediums are oils and acrylics, and she finds inspiration in the diverse landscapes she has encountered throughout her extensive travels with her parents and husband.
Dara specializes in realistic Florida landscapes and vibrant seascapes, which capture the ever-changing moods of the sea.
With years of formal training and continuing under professional artists, Dara taught acrylic painting at First Coast Technical College. Today, she offers private and group lessons, including virtual lessons for local, national, and international students. Her aim is to instill both skill and confidence in her students!
Dara is a member of the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society, the St. Augustine Art Association, and The Beach Art Studio. Her artwork is exhibited locally and is collected by art enthusiasts around the world.
