ARTIST’S BIO

Marshall, a St. Augustine-based artist, weaves thought-provoking narratives into herquilts, drawing inspiration from archetypal and iconic themes to illuminate our world. Her journey into textile art began in 1988 in Atlanta, Georgia with her first quilt class. By 1991, Marshall had transitioned to designing meaningful quilts, incorporating a blend of techniques like mixed media, collage, and dye painting. Her commitment to continuous learning led her to study under esteemed artists such as Jane Dunnewold and Hollis Chatelain and Caroline Myss’s groundbreaking work on archetypes. Marshall’s work, known for its semi-representational style, has been sold, commissioned, and exhibited in local and regional shows and galleries. Today, she is focused on curating an international exhibition of large-scale quilt artworks that explore stories, legends, myths, and archetypes, reflecting the human journey. Her textile pieces are more than fabric and thread; they are a canvas where stories and deep human connections are recognized and remembered.
