ARTIST BIO

I was born and raised in a small town in Massachusetts, in the Berkshires.  My husband, son, and I moved to Florida 10 years ago.  After graduating from college, I worked in accounting for many years.  I eventually taught myself medical transcription and spent 20 years transcribing from home as an independent contractor.  I picked up my first paint brush in 2020 after I retired, strictly as “something to do”.  I am completely self-taught, as my only training has consisted of watching countless tutorials on the internet to learn various techniques.  After selling numerous acrylic paintings, I decided to try my hand at colored pencils in 2022.  This allowed me to achieve the level of details I was not able to get with painting.  In 2023, I moved on to pastel pencils, which is my absolute favorite of all mediums so far.  In 2024, I experimented with watercolors as well, which I also enjoy.  I consider myself a photorealistic artist.  I mostly  enjoy doing animals, domestic and wildlife, as well as people of all ages.  The first time I entered a piece of my art into a gallery was in 2023.  To my surprise, it sold!  I am thoroughly enjoying this chapter of my life.
